On our way home from the Grand Tetons, we wanted to eat an excellent dinner in Sydney, Nebraska. We chose Mi Ranchito... and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the Mexican food was; plus, we could pick the size! Highly recommend this restaurant! Our waitress Mary Ellen (not the way she spells and say her name, but close) was wonderful! I spilled a huge glass of water and she rushed in to help clean it up and never complained, thanks!read more

So so. Then again I'm from Laredo so expectations are high when it comes to Mexican food

Quite possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten, and that includes the fast food chains. Guacamole straight from... a tub you buy at Walmart. Which is just down the street. Walmart sells avocados, onions and tomatoes folks. Salsa was also straight from a bottle. Zero chunks of anything, just some red sludge. The owners should be ashamed, especially considering they are stealing the name of a well-respected national chain. At least the place was clean and the service good. No alcohol.read more

The food is definitely edible. When I saw the sign outside where it stated “Fine Mexican Food”, I was looking for... “Fine Mexican Food”. Which to me is with the best Mexican ingredients. I had the Chile relleno plate. 1st chille rellenos are made with Poblano peppers and are dipped in a fluffy egg batter, which this was not poblano peppers and were only batter in simply whisked eggs. The cheese used was cheddar which isn’t a “fine Mexican” ingredient. The tortillas used are store bought, which is ok, but not in a “Fine Mexican Food” restaurant. I think the sign should read “Casual Tex-Mex Food” and evening then wouldn’t receive more than 3 stars.read more

We ordered the steak fajitas, and it was not even steak. The meat was super dry, and looked like a piece of roasted... beef that had been reheated many times. I was only able to eat the veggies, meat was gross. The shrimp fajita was good though. I was very disappointed in this place, would never go back here again.read more

When I'm tired of the same food in all the truck stops & want to try something different I always stop there. 4 us... truck drivers is very discouraging seen a good place to eat but no space 2 park our semi truck, not on this place! @ 1st you might think where do I park my truck? well there is a huge Cabelas building across the street so that's where I park! I just walk & cross the street safely so I can sink my teet on good Mexican Food! restaurant has a good ambiance (No loud Mexican Polka music or banda) & is popular with the locals so many families stop there to eat, prices are in the mid range so you can afford a decent meal, they accept all kinds of cards 4 payment in case you don't carry cash, waiters are polite & some are bilingual. If you come in a car is easy to park @ their site but if on a semi truck you have to park across the street @ the Cabelas but don't worry they have a big section for trucks/RV's & signs to guide you into the parking area, enjoy the food & return happy to your truck but B mindful of Cabelas hospitality & don't leave any garbage @ their place.read more

The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, and the staff is friendly. However there are not enough servers making the... wait times terrible. You have to ask several times for items you've already ordered or haven't been brought to the table. The men's bathroom is in poor condition and needs to be cleaned and repaired. Food is decent, and lots of menu options.read more
